Barrio and Presidio
The
collection
is
inspired
by
the
rich
and
varied
architecture
of
Tucson,
Arizona’s
historical
Barrio,
Presidio
and
Ft.
Lowell
districts.
These
neighborhoods
provide
a
vivid
tapestry
of
images
reflecting
the
color
and
beauty
of
the
late
1800’s
as
well
as
the
influence
of
Mexican
craftsmen
and
Hispanic
culture
that
continue
to
this
day.
The
collection
was
featured
in
a
2007
solo
exhibition
at
the
Joel
Valdez
Main
Library
funded
in
part
by
the
generous
support
of
the
Tucson
Pima
Arts
Council
benefiting
the
community
and
promoting
awareness
of
the
Arts.
